Accelerated Programs

Our programs are focused on job skill training so you get fast-paced, quality preparation for your future career. You will take courses in 5 and 10 week terms that keep you focused on the important topics.

Earn a certificate in Aviation Maintenance Technology in as few as 17 months or an associate degree in about 22 months.

SJVC’s Aviation Maintenance Technology program prepares students with the skills and technical knowledge they need to perform maintenance on aircraft airframe (body) and powerplant (engine). In addition to classroom instruction, hands-on training in the hangar includes maintenance, servicing, troubleshooting, and repair of airframe and powerplant systems and components. 

Get A&P Certified by the FAA 

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requires extensive experience in aircraft maintenance before taking the Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Exam. SJVC's Aviation Maintenance Technology program provides you this experience so you can take the A&P Certification Exam with confidence. All necessary FAA Examinations for the A&P certificate are administered on-site.

3 Reasons Students Prefer SJVC

Learn repair techniques of carburetors, engine fuel metering systems and components. Engine fire detection and extinguishing, propellers and propeller controls, and engine auxiliary systems are also covered. 

Propeller Engine Systems

Jet Engine Systems

Learn to inspect, service, troubleshoot, overhaul, and repair turbine engines and supporting elements. Work with an actual jet engine inside our aircraft hangar. 

Airframe Repair

Study aircraft sheet metal fabrication including layout, drilling, and riveting. Learn about the fabrication and repair of plastics, honeycomb and bonded aluminum structure.
